Mondays at Monarch
Monarch Theater NYC launched its new program Mondays at Monarch aimed at giving one playwright per month the opportunity to hear their new play aloud with professional actors and a director.
Playwriting Workshop with Migdalia Cruz and John Jesurun
During this eight-week workshop, eight early-career playwrights workshopped their new plays with Migdalia Cruz and John Jesurun. The workshop culminated in a staged reading of excerpts of the work at La Galleria at La MaMa, where they playwrights had the opportunity to work with professional directors and actors.
Workshop participants: Brian Bauman, Jean Coleman, Lisi DeHaas, Diana Delgado, Larry Kunofsky, Piia Mustamaki, Marie Elena Ortiz, and Juan Fransisco Villa.
