Playwriting Workshops

Currently accepting submissions!

Each month Monarch Theater NYC produces a public or private reading of a new work. The playwright is given the opportunity to hear the play with a director, professional actors, and members of the Monarch staff. The workshop is intended as an informal and unrehearsed table-read, and an opportunity for the playwright to explore the work, ask questions, and receive feedback.

Mondays at Monarch readings are a starting point for plays which may be considered as future Monarch productions, and they are our way of supporting new playwrights while introducing them to the Monarch process.
